During the latter part of the 1970’s, George Kokotos, a civil engineer by profession, created a small winery in Stamata, Attica. The vineyards are situated on the slopes of Penteli, the mountain that gave its marble for the building of the Parthenon. It was here, according to the legends of Ancient Greece, that Dionysus, the mythological God of Wine, and his mother Semeli lived.
